We use the most advanced digital x-ray systems, intraoral video cameras and photography to allow us to both diagnose and involve the patient in the process of discovery. Preventive techniques and advances in oral hygiene care are emphasized to help minimize disease issues and create a lifetime of optimal dental health.
Periodontal Care
 The periodontal system is similar to the foundation of your home. Breakdowns here manifest themselves in tooth loss, infection, looseness of teeth , etc. Thorough diagnosis of the supporting structures of teeth are critical in maintaining health. The correlation between oral disease and general health are clear and we know that problems related to periodontal infection can lead to heart problems, low birth weight, lung infections, etc. We constantly monitor the health of the periodontal tissues and use the latest techniques to remove infections and stabilize these tissues including both surgical and non-surgical care.
Restorative Care
We use only the best and most studied dental materials to properly restore decayed or broken teeth. Magnification allows us to perform dentistry with a very high level of precision and quality. Through our association with dental product manufacturers, we are also able to see the latest materials and always stay current with the newest technologies.
 Reconstructive Care
In more advanced cases of tooth loss, neglect or general breakdown of the teeth and smile, reconstructive dentistry is often needed to restore function, form and esthetics. Using both oral and intravenous sedation when required we perform these procedures comfortably and with great care. TMD and Bite Issues
 Conservative management of bite disorders and jaw pain involve using diagnostic skills and the use of devices designed to decrease inflammation and pain. An individual plan is developed based on the patient lifestyle and history. If needed, we have associations with the UNC pain clinic and local specialists in the area of chronic pain management. Biofeedback, massage therapy, trigger point therapy are all integrated in the develop of a plan to manage these type of issues.
 Sleep apnea
Dentistry’s role in the management of Sleep Apnea is increasing. Appliances can be fabricated which position the jaw forward and improve the airflow, thus improving health and sleep quality as well as the sleep quality of your mate.
